Recruitment period for Summer 2024:

September 2023  - April 2024

EBF promotes a more diverse industry by recruiting promising students of color for multi-year paid internships at some of the nation’s leading media, entertainment and tech companies.

Placement selections are made by May 1. Applicants will be notified May 1 if they have not been selected for Summer 2024.

DOROT Academic Year Teen Internship Program 2023-24

Deadline: Rolling

DOROT welcomes high school students in 9-12th grades to receive high-quality training and leadership development for community engagement. A pair of interns is matched with an older adult for a weekly home visit to share conversation, hobbies, walks, and other experiences. 

Duration: October 10, 2023 to December 12, 2023

BNYDC’s Internship Program connects college-attending students and college-bound high school seniors to a wide range of paid internship opportunities with businesses in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

Over an 8-week session, students will be connected to Yard-based businesses and departments according to their future career interests, skill sets, and educational background.

DOROT Summer Internship

Session 2

Deadline: January 27, 2023 (?)

Rising sophomores, juniors and seniors can intern to bring vital social connections to older adults. You can develop leadership skills and engage in meaningful programs with older adults, through a variety of intergenerational activities – including discussion groups, home visits, creative arts and tech assistance. This summer, the internship programs will operate in a mixed model, being both in-person and virtual.

Duration: July 25, 2023 to August 17, 2023

Summer Neuroscience Program

Deadline: March 12, 2023

The Summer Neuroscience Program (SNP) is a two-week course for NYC public high schoolers led by Rockefeller University graduate students. Participants take a look at ongoing neuroscience research in an effort to understand how the brain works and how it relates to our daily life. In SNP students will: participate in a series of interactive lectures, read and present a scientific article, design an original neuroscience experiment, meet with Rockefeller scientists, dissect a brain, and visit research facilities.

2023 Virtual Rising STEM Scholars

Deadline: August 2, 2023

The 2023 Virtual Rising STEM Scholars is a FREE Virtual STEM enrichment program offered by the Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) Office of Educational Programs. Student are introduced to the research at the National Synchrotron Light Source-II and to computational applications that can be used to design and study research questions. Students work collaboratively in the development of research questions, meet BNL mentors and learn about internship opportunities at BNL and the Department of Energy.
